Softfootball Analysis

Looking at these fixtures, the Liverpool game stands out as the only match where United could reasonably settle for a draw if a win is not possible. The rest? United should approach them with a win-only mindset, no draws, no losses.

United also have five away games remaining. If they can secure at least two wins on the road, that would represent significant progress in the race for Champions League qualification.

Mathematically, United could finish in the top three if they defeat Aston Villa and win five of their last seven from the remaining 11 league matches. Should that scenario materialise, a return to the Champions League would be within reach.

However, football rarely follows a fixed script. Other top-four challengers such as Aston Villa, Liverpool and Chelsea could also hit strong form and complicate United’s push.

That said, United’s capabilities cannot be overlooked. Since the appointment of Michael Carrick and the departure of Rúben Amorim, the team have erased a nine-point gap to Aston Villa in the top-four race.
