Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa after activating the Belgian midfielder’s €41 million release clause, Softfootball reports.
The move comes shortly after Manchester United confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea following the successful completion of his medical. All transfer documents have now been signed between the two clubs in a deal worth £50 million.
The Red Devils have also reached a verbal agreement with the 28-year-old over personal terms, with the deal now considered all but done.
United moved swiftly for Tielemans after abandoning their pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Éderson, quickly identifying the experienced Belgian as an alternative to strengthen Michael Carrick’s midfield options.
The signing represents another important step in Manchester United’s midfield rebuild as the club.
With Santos already secured and Tielemans now on the verge of joining, United continue an ambitious rebuild as they strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
