Manchester United have reportedly opened discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over the potential signing of highly-rated teenage midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery. The 19-year-old has emerged as a top summer target for United, with reports suggesting that initial contact has been made between the two clubs.

Zaire-Emery has already racked up 125 senior appearances for PSG, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists. During the 2024–25 season, he made 51 appearances in all competitions and played a significant role under manager Luis Enrique, scoring three goals and setting up two more.

Despite his youth, Zaire-Emery is already a seven-time France international and widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest midfield talents. His current deal runs until June 2029, with an option for an extra year, placing PSG in a commanding position. However, sources indicate that a bid in the region of €100 million (£85 million) could be enough to tempt the French champions into considering a sale.

United’s pursuit is still at an early stage, with TEAMtalk reporting that the Red Devils have made “exploratory contact” to assess PSG’s stance. PSG boss Luis Enrique is believed to be eager to keep the midfielder, but a substantial offer could change the situation.

Financially, such a deal would be difficult for United without significant player sales. The club has already committed to £62.5 million for Matheus Cunha and is close to finalizing a £60 million move for Bryan Mbeumo. As a result, further incomings may depend on outgoings, with players like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho linked with potential exits.

Although United are unable to offer European football this season, they could potentially offer Zaire-Emery more regular starts than he currently enjoys at PSG. With Christian Eriksen expected to leave, there is room in the midfield for a young, dynamic talent.

While the move remains uncertain due to financial and competitive challenges, Manchester United’s interest in Zaire-Emery signals a bold transfer strategy. Should they free up funds through player sales, a blockbuster deal could still materialize before the window closes.
