Despite strong interest from Serie A, Manchester United are showing hesitation in selling Rasmus Hojlund during the current transfer window. The 22-year-old Danish striker has been linked with moves to Inter Milan and Napoli, but the Red Devils reportedly view him as a long-term asset and will only consider his departure if they receive a significant offer.
Inter Milan are targeting a loan deal with a €45m (£38m) purchase option, while Napoli have also expressed interest. However, United are standing firm. After an underwhelming return of 26 goals in 95 appearances since his £72m arrival from Atalanta in 2023, many assumed the club might move on. But internally, there’s growing belief that Hojlund has more to offer.
According to The Times reporter Charlotte Duncker, United’s staff feel Hojlund hasn’t shown his best yet. On The Game podcast, she revealed there is a “genuine reluctance” to sell unless a big fee arrives, adding that the club is optimistic about a revitalized version of the forward next season — a “Hojlund 2.0” they hope to polish over the summer.
Elsewhere, club legend Louis Saha weighed in on transfer speculation surrounding two other United players. Amid rumours of a potential move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Saha insisted that United should not consider letting Amad Diallo or Bruno Fernandes leave. The Ivorian winger and the Portuguese captain, in Saha’s view, are too valuable to the squad’s spirit and performance.
Fernandes, who had drawn interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, has reportedly decided to remain at Old Trafford, reinforcing United’s efforts to retain their core talent ahead of the 2025–26 campaign.
