Man United fans in frenzy as Chelsea, Liverpool transfer target seen wearing Red Devil’s shirt

Manchester United fans are in a frenzy after Lyon youngster Malick Fofana was spotted in an Instagram post wearing a United shirt amid interest from Premier League rivals, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Softfootball understands that the 19-year-old has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea over a summer transfer; however, the Red Devils may now be put on alert following the wonderkid’s Instagram story.

Fofana, 19, is a talented attacker who has been put forward as an option for several sides in the Premier League. He scored 11 times in all competitions last season, with six of those coming in 10 appearances in the Europa League.

The winger has now been spotted doing some individual pre-season training while sporting a Manchester United jersey with Marcus Rashford’s name on the back, sparking rumors that he might be heading to Old Trafford.

A recent report from French publication L’Equipe suggests United have expressed an interest in bringing the highly-rated Belgium international to Old Trafford following their relegation to France’s second tier.

And on Sunday, the 20-year-old sparked rumours after he posted a picture of himself wearing a Manchester United shirt with ‘Rashford 10’ on the back. He sported the full United kit amid ongoing speculation.

Here’s how fans on social media reacted to Fofana’s decision to wear the jersey.

One wrote: “Full United kit is insane, come here bro,” while another commented: “Sign this kid up man.”

A third said: “Nah bro do you realise how big a United fan you have to be to willingly wear that MONSTROSITY of a third kit?? BRING HIM TO THE THEATRE.”

A fourth wrote: “Tears got the shorts on too,” and a fifth added: “Bring and loan back. (Helps lyon out)”

Earlier, Softfootball reported that Chelsea were warned off £43m move for Man Utd and Liverpool target Malick Fofana. Blue’s former defender William Gallas suggested the club should focus on strengthening other areas.

Despite the growing buzz around Fofana, Gallas believes Chelsea would be making a strategic error if they joined the race.

“He’s still learning, and that’s not the kind of player Chelsea should be chasing now,”

the former Blues centre-back told Prime Casino.

Gallas emphasised the need for experience in defence, particularly at right centre-back, as Chelsea prepare for the new Premier League season under Enzo Maresca. “They already have plenty of forwards. They need defensive solidity if they want to be competitive again,” he added.
