Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ended their pursuit of Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo after being priced out by the Cherries, who remain firm on their £70 million valuation.
Semenyo was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting six more in 37 appearances. His contributions helped Bournemouth achieve their best-ever points tally and a flirtation with European qualification before fading late in the campaign.
Given his form, the 25-year-old Ghanaian was linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s top six, with Manchester United, Spurs, and even Newcastle showing interest. However, according to i Paper, Bournemouth are confident of keeping him, and talks with Spurs have reportedly led nowhere. Newcastle have already pulled out of the race.
Semenyo, who joined from Bristol City in early 2023, has since contributed 22 goals and 10 assists in 89 games for the Cherries and signed a long-term deal just last year, giving the club leverage in holding off suitors.

With Semenyo off the table, Manchester United have turned their attention to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. Although two bids have already been rejected, United remain hopeful, even going as far as to tentatively schedule a medical for the Cameroonian.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have shifted their focus to Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, their top attacking target. However, their interest may be cooling, potentially opening the door for Arsenal, who have also been monitoring the £68m-rated playmaker.
As the summer transfer window heats up, both United and Spurs are recalibrating their strategies after Bournemouth’s firm stance on Semenyo’s future.
