French defender Malang Sarr has agreed to join Saudi Pro League side NEOM SC as a free agent, with the deal now completed. The former Chelsea centre-back has chosen the ambitious Saudi project despite receiving multiple offers from clubs across Europe.

Softfootball understands that Sarr opted for NEOM SC over at least five proposals from European teams, believing the club’s long-term vision offered the best opportunity for the next stage of his career.

The move also comes as former Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré recently signed a two-year contract with NEOM SC, highlighting the club’s determination to attract experienced talent ahead of the new season.

Sarr arrives with valuable experience gained from spells at clubs including Nice, Chelsea, Porto and Monaco. His versatility, composure on the ball and defensive quality are expected to strengthen NEOM’s back line as they continue building a competitive squad.

The signing represents another statement of intent from NEOM SC, who have been active in the transfer market as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming Saudi Pro League campaign. With Sarr now on board and Doucouré already committed to the project, the club continues to add proven European experience in its pursuit of long-term success.
