Reacting to the result of the game, Mac Allister explained via Argentina’s official X handle. He said:

It’s always important to score goals and in preparation for the World Cup.

Mac Allister has been a main stay in the Argentina midfield after making a breakthrough before the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He also played a key role as they won the tournament in an amazing final that witnessed both teams going into penalties after a 3-3 draw during regulation time.

He made his big move to Liverpool and also helped the Reds win the premier league title last season as they finished ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City. And playing regularly with arguably the best footballer on planet in Lionel Messi is surely a morale booster for Mac Allister and other Argentine players.

Mac Allister is set to rejoin his Liverpool teammates ahead of the restart of the premier league where they would face archrivals Manchester United on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
