Paris Saint-Germain’s historic 5-0 win over Inter in the Champions League final capped off a sensational season for the French giants, securing their first-ever European crown and completing a famous treble under Luis Enrique.

While the headlines belonged to Desire Doue’s brace and goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and young Senny Mayulu, it was Ousmane Dembele who earned special recognition from his manager. Despite not scoring, Dembele’s relentless pressing and involvement in two of PSG’s goals highlighted his evolution into a key figure in the team.

Enrique, who took over the club last July after Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid, has transformed PSG into a dynamic and disciplined unit. The Spanish coach has now claimed his second career treble, following his 2015 triumph with Barcelona. Under his guidance, PSG dismantled top sides like Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal en route to Champions League glory.

The final in Munich showcased the team’s intensity and tactical discipline, particularly Dembele’s standout defensive effort. Enrique believes that the winger’s all-round performance deserves Ballon d’Or recognition, not just for his attacking flair, but for the defensive commitment he demonstrated in the final.

Dembele’s journey this season has been remarkable. He returned to the squad with renewed focus after being dropped during the group stages. His turnaround has mirrored PSG’s rise, becoming a leader and example within the squad.

As celebrations unfolded in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower lit in red and blue, Enrique reflected on the significance of the victory for the club and its fans. He stressed the importance of keeping calm under pressure and praised the squad’s maturity in managing high-stakes matches.

Now, with the Champions League trophy secured and history made, PSG shifts focus to building on their success—with Dembele firmly at the heart of their future.
