Luciano Spalletti Begins a New Chapter with Juventus

3 Min Read

It’s a new start in Turin as Luciano Spalletti steps in as the new manager of Juventus Football Club, a move many fans see as a big gamble but one that might just bring the spark back. Softfootball had initially reported that both parties were in talks, and now it’s being confirmed that a deal has been agreed upon.

The news first came out from Fabrizio Romano via his official X account earlier today. He revealed that Spalletti was at La Continassa, Juve’s training ground, to wrap up his contract. The club hasn’t made it official yet but that should come any moment. His arrival follows the sacking of Igor Tudor, who got the boot after a poor 1–0 loss to Lazio that left Juventus winless in eight straight games and sitting eighth on the Serie A table.

He posted:

Luciano Spalletti’s contract as new Juventus manager has been signed as he visited training ground La Continassa.

Official statement to follow next.

Spalletti’s reputation speaks for itself. The veteran coach famously led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years back in 2023. He’s agreed to stay with Juventus until June 2026, with an extra year added automatically if the team makes it to the Champions League.

Juventus also made an announcement post afterwards on their official X account.

They posted:

The announcement has sparked a bit of optimism from the Juventus fan base, as they badly seek a continuation of the 3-1 victory they enjoyed against Udinese under interim manager Massimo Brambilla; however, the level of pessimism shown by some sections of the fans is understandable. Juventus was truly terrible under Igor Tudor.

If all goes well, Spalletti’s first game should come on November 1, when Juventus face Cremonese. It won’t be an easy debut, but it’s a chance to show he can change things fast and continue the clubs upward projection.

For Juventus, this isn’t just another managerial change. It’s a signal, a reminder that the Old Lady still wants to rise again and restore its lost glory that saw them dominate Italy for up to a decde straight.

Whether Spalletti can actually pull that off, only time will tell, but there’s a little more hope in Turin tonight than there was a week ago.
