Liverpool starlet Giovanni Leoni is setting his mind on a debut senior cap for the Italian team known as the Azurri when they play on Friday against Estonia, Softfootball can report.
As released on the Azzurri website this evening, Italy concluded their final training session at Coverciano before travelling to Bergamo for Friday night’s World Cup qualifier against Estonia, with Giovanni Leoni emerging as a key focus in coach Genaro Gattuso’s plans.

The website stated:
The national team had their final training session at Coverciano this morning before departing for Bergamo this afternoon, where tomorrow evening (20:45, live on Rai 1) the Azzurri will face Estonia in the third match of their World Cup qualifying group.
With the training completed ahead of tomorrow’s game, Leone, who just joined Liverpool this summer, will also be eyeing to make a debut for the national team. Leone made an outstanding performance in the Italian Serie A with Parma, which got him a spot at Liverpool that was worth £35 million.
However, the squad’s preparations were reshaped earlier today with the withdrawal of Gianluca Scamacca. The Atalanta striker has not fully recovered from discomfort sustained upon arrival at the national training centre, ruling him out of fixtures against Estonia and Israel, respectively.
The website stated this:
Meanwhile, Gianluca Scamacca left the camp this morning: the Atalanta striker has not fully recovered from the discomfort he felt when he arrived at the Federal Training Centre,
The Azzurri have won all seven of their previous encounters with Estonia, with the Italians seeking to extend their win record in the qualifiers. They have recorded a win in their last two World Cup qualifying games, having lost to Norway but defeated Moldova.
