Liverpool have put off any interest in Alexander Isak after Newcastle rejected the Reds big offer for the striker. Softfootball has been informed that the Reds do not intend to continue talks with the Magpies for the Swedish striker.
Isak had requested for a transfer away from the St. James park and multiple reports had shown the star wanted to move to only Liverpool. Softfootball had been following Isak’s movement this period and found out the striker is training with his former side, Real Sociedad in Spain.
Meanwhile Newcastle are having a tour to forget in Asia as they have lost 3 preseason matches. The lost Arsenal, K-League All stars and Celtic.

The Isak transfer saga takes a new turn yet again as Newcastle had earlier said they were not open to selling the striker but he informed them he wanted to leave after the statement.
Confirming Liverpool’s disinterest in continuing talks with Newcastle, UK journalist, Ben Jacobs took to his verified X handle to report Liverpool’s decision.
He posted:
Exclusive: Liverpool have no plans as it stands to bid again for Alexander Isak this window. Nature of #NUFC’s rebuttal means Liverpool will NOT follow up with a second offer.
Regarded as futile unless Newcastle change their stance and contact Liverpool. Offer rejected was £110m.
Terms with Isak not a problem.
No second bid currently being prepared. Liverpool will only revisit if Newcastle now offer clear encouragement which has not come to date.
No counter made to the £110m, and no acknowledgement from Newcastle £150m (or any other number) is the asking price despite a feeling among Newcastle insiders they value Isak at this level.
Newcastle want Isak to sign a new deal despite the fact the Swedish striker is pushing for a move away.
Softfootball can confirm that the 25 year old Swedish striker was courted by Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in this transfer window but all clubs had since brought in strikers this summer. Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike’s deal with Frankfurt was a hijack from Newcastle who were almost sealing a deal for Ekitike.
This recent event might show an act of revenge from Newcastle on Liverpool after they hijacked Ektitke’s deal.
Confirming that Newcastle rejected Liverpool’s first bid, Fabrizio Romano wrote on his verified X handle that Newcastle did not open doors for talks.
He wrote:
Liverpool opening bid for Alexander Isak was worth £120m package plus add-ons. Newcastle rejected as they won’t open doors at least until finding a replacement… and it’s not guaranteed, at this stage.
Alex insists with Newcastle on his clear desire to join Liverpool.
The coming days will bring more clarity on the issue but as it stands Newcastle will be on the losing end as Benjamin Sesko is being reported to be pursued by Manchester United who are also in need of a new number 9.
