Exclusive story from Saturday, 100% confirmed: Arne Slot left and Iraola will lead #LFC project, as expected.
Talks advanced over last 48h and deal in place.
Softfootball gathered that The Spaniard emerged as Liverpool’s preferred candidate following the departure of Arne Slot, with negotiations progressing quickly after the club moved to identify a successor.

Iraola is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming days and will arrive at Anfield after an outstanding campaign with AFC Bournemouth. The 44-year-old guided Bournemouth to a sixth-place Premier League finish and secured European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.
The former Bournemouth boss is set to begin work after a short break and will oversee his first Liverpool pre-season from early July, although several members of the squad are expected to be absent due to their involvement in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Liverpool are already preparing for the new era under Iraola and have confirmed additional pre-season fixtures against AS Monaco and Como 1907 at Anfield in August.
The appointment signals the beginning of a new chapter on Merseyside, with Liverpool hoping Iraola can build on his impressive work at Bournemouth and guide the club back to major honours in the seasons ahead.
