Liverpool bounced back in impressive fashion with a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night, ending a tough run of four straight defeats. Arne Slot’s team looked sharp, confident and full of energy from start to finish.
This win marked Liverpool’s 300th away goal in European competition and was a big statement after a frustrating few weeks. Softfootball reported that Slot had asked his players to stay calm and focused after a 1-2 loss to Manchester United, and they responded perfectly.

Even though Liverpool conceded first once again, they didn’t panic. Rasmus Kristensen gave Frankfurt an early lead, but Hugo Ekitiké equalised with a calm finish against his former club.

Soon after, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté both scored headers from corners to put Liverpool firmly in control. Florian Wirtz, returning to his home country, was excellent on the right side, setting up two goals and controlling the tempo of the game. Dominik Szoboszlai also stood out, scoring a brilliant long-range goal to cap off a strong performance.

Arne Slot’s choice to rest Mohamed Salah again worked out well, though the Egyptian came on in the second half and missed a few late chances. The only concerns came with injuries to Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong, who both went off with muscle issues that could keep them out for a while.
Federico Chiesa and Conor Bradley also impressed from the bench as Liverpool’s pressing and quick movement proved too much for Frankfurt, whose defense has now let in 29 goals in 11 matches.
This resounding victory over Eintracht Frankfurt was showcased in a post shared on Liverpool’s official X handle, capturing their players celebrating the victory. They shared:
