Liam Rosenior has delivered his most detailed Chelsea team update yet ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with Pafos, his first European fixture in charge of the Blues.

Speaking to the media today, the Chelsea head coach reflected on momentum gained from the weekend win over Brentford and how that performance shapes his plans for Europe. As reported by SoftFootball, that victory marked Rosenior’s Premier League debut in the dugout and set an important tone for the squad moving forward.

Rosenior also touched on the wider mood around the club, which has been lifted not only by results but by signs of progress off the pitch. With Chelsea recently agreeing personal terms with Jeremy Jacquet, there is a feeling of structure beginning to form under the new regime.

At the same time, the coach has had to manage a tricky illness situation within the squad, which remains a concern heading into the Pafos game. The Chelsea boss confirmed in a post shared by the club’s official X account that several players have returned to training after battling illness, though he was clear that not everyone is fully recovered.

Explaining the situation, Rosenior said:

There are still a few coughs going around but we are working really hard to get everyone back and making sure the players are right for tomorrow.

He revealed that Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Malo Gusto have all trained again, offering cautious optimism ahead of the match. One player whose availability remains uncertain is Enzo Fernandez.

Rosenior explained the midfielder’s condition, saying:

Enzo Fernandez was ill yesterday and he missed training. There were signs of it during the Brentford game, which goes to show the type of performance he put in. He did train today, although he isn’t at 100 per cent so we’ll make a decision on Enzo tomorrow on whether he can start or can make an impact from the bench.

There was firmer news on the injury front regarding Tosin Adarabioyo, who will definitely miss the Pafos clash. Rosenior ruled him out after suffering a hamstring issue against Brentford.

He said:

Tosin won’t be available for this game. Unfortunately for Tosin he felt something in his hamstring, which is going to rule him out for the next few weeks. I can’t be anymore precise than that at this moment in terms of any timelines.

Chelsea now turn their full focus to Pafos, knowing three points at Stamford Bridge could prove decisive in their push toward the Champions League knockout stage.
