Levante reignited their LaLiga survival push after sealing a dramatic 3–2 victory over regional rivals Elche at the Ciutat de València on Friday night, claiming their first home league win of the season in extraordinary fashion.
The result, shared on the club’s official X account, came just days after a build-up focused on whether Levante could finally deliver at home, a theme explored by SoftFootball ahead of kick-off as Elche arrived still searching for their first away win of the campaign.

The hosts had already endured a difficult run this season, including recent defeats that underlined their defensive fragility, while Elche had impressed in spells despite inconsistent results on the road, as previously highlighted by SoftFootball during their chaotic 2–2 draw with Sevilla.
Elche struck first in the 11th minute through Álvaro Rodríguez, who capitalised on poor defending to stroke a low finish past Mathew Ryan for his first away league goal of the season.

Levante dominated territory and chances thereafter, with Carlos Álvarez and Iván Romero lively, but Elche’s compact shape allowed them to protect a 1–0 lead at the break.
The second half shifted dramatically in Levante’s favour. Pablo Martínez rose unmarked to head home Jeremy Toljan’s cross in the 50th minute before turning provider as Dela powered in another header from Martínez’s delivery in the 68th minute.
Just as the home crowd sensed a vital win, substitute Adam Boayar stunned the stadium with a spectacular bicycle kick in the 93rd minute, assisted by Álex Sánchez.

There was still time for one final twist. In the 96th minute, Alan Matturro climbed highest to meet Jon Ander Olasagasti’s corner and head in the winner, sparking wild celebrations and sealing Luís Castro’s first home league victory.
Levante now sit within three points of safety, while Elche remain eighth after suffering another costly setback on their travels.
