Leon Bailey’s Aston Villa journey is nearing its end, with the winger now on the verge of sealing a loan move with an option to buy to Serie A side AS Roma after both clubs struck an agreement in principle. Softfootball reports
The Jamaican international had his heart set on Roma despite several interests from other clubs, he made it clear that the Italian capital was always his first choice.
At 27, Bailey sees this as the right moment to embrace a new challenge and revive his career under Gian Piero Gasperini, who is building an ambitious project in Rome.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news via his official X handle as he tweeted:
“Leon Bailey to AS Roma, here we go! Verbal agreement with Aston Villa for €2/3m loan fee plus €22m buy option clause.
“Bailey only wanted Roma as priority as reported last week, deal now agreed in principle.
“Medical authorization expected next.”
Should the deal be completed, Bailey will bring his pace, flair, and direct attacking style to Roma’s frontline, qualities that made Aston Villa sign him.
For Aston Villa, the agreement provides both financial flexibility and an opportunity to reshape their squad by trying to sign another dynamic forward ahead of another demanding Premier League season
