A leaked video has surfaced online showing Arsenal midfielder, Myles Lewis-Skelly buzzing with excitement over Viktor Gyokeres’ imminent move to the Emirates as Arsenal have now verbally agreed a deal to sign the striker from Sporting, as reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano dropped his trademark “Here we go!” on social media, confirming that Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Sporting CP for the Swedish striker, and the Gunners will pay €63.5 million (around £54.8m), with an additional €10 million (£8.6m) in performance related add-ons. The deal also reportedly includes a reduced agent commission to help push it over the line.

As fans were digesting the huge transfer update, a behind the scene video began making the rounds online, showing Lewis-Skelly reacting to the news with pure joy. The Arsenal left-back can be seen mimicking Gyokeres’ trademark celebration while proudly flashing a screenshot of Romano’s confirmation tweet as seen below:

Softfootball can confirm that the clip has quickly gone viral among Arsenal fans, with many seeing Lewis-Skelly’s reaction as a reflection of the excitement around the club. Gyökeres is viewed as an outstanding striker Mikel Arteta has been chasing, and his arrival could be a major statement ahead of the new Premier League season.
Initially, the Gunners went into the market with two names in mind, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, and for a while, it seemed the former was their preferred option. Despite reports they were negotiating for both simultaneously, it seemed talks were more advanced for Sesko, prompting many to believe he would be their new striker for the new season.
However, due to various circumstances, that move fell through, meaning Arsenal turned their attention fully to Gyokeres, entering advanced talks with Sporting earlier this month.
There were concerns around the deal though, with the Portuguese champions standing firm on their demands while the Gunners weren’t keen to meet the full asking price.
With the formalities now in motion and only official confirmation pending, it’s clear the dressing room and the fans are ready to welcome Gyokeres with open arms.
