Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Manchester City ahead of proposed move to the Etihad. The Italian goalkeeper is set for a long-term contract, with negotiations ongoing between City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Softfootball understands that Man City and PSG are now negotiating a transfer fee but the move cannot be completed until Ederson leaves. The Man City goalkeeper is close to joining Galatasaray having agreed personal terms with the Turkish giants.

Man City and Galatasaray are currently negotiating a fee for Ederson and once that is settled, then Donnarumma is expected to replace the Brazilian.
Donnarumma announced last week that he is leaving PSG after being forced out of the club by manager Luis Enrique, who wants a goalkeeper who is better with his feet. This comes amidst failed contract renewal talks this summer to his deal that expires in 2026.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his Facebook page, Italian goalkeeper has agreed personal terms with Manchester City on a long-term contract. Discussions are now underway with Paris Saint-Germain to settle the final fee. His post reads:
“BREAKING: Gigio Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Manchester City
Long term deal ready for Italian goalkeeper and talks underway with Paris Saint-Germain over the total fee.
The deal depends on Éderson’s exit this summer.”
PSG wanted to reduce Donnarumma base salary, which is currently €10m a year net, and give him performance related add-ons instead, but he rejected this and the European champions made the decision to sign Lucas Chevalier from Lille.
The 26-year-old was left out of the European Super Cup squad to play against Tottenham in a clear sign that he has no future. The Italian is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world right now after a series of sensational performances in the Champions League triumph last season.
The Italian goalkeeper played a pivotal role in PSG winning the Champions League with decisive performances on their run to the final. Against Liverpool in the last-16, Donnarumma made two big saves in the penalty shootout from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones to take PSG through.
Donnarumma struggled to fight back tears on Friday night as he bid farewell to Paris Saint-Germain fans at the Parc des Princes. The Italian goalkeeper, who joined PSG in 2021 now prepares for the next chapter of his career in the Premier League, bringing an end to his three-year spell in Paris marked by domestic titles and memorable performances.
