Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed that Jason Steele has signed a new contract with the club, which extends his stay at Amex Stadium until June 2027. Known for his professionalism and leadership, Steele has become a very key and important player.
Steele joined Brighton in 2018 and has made 60 appearances in all competitions for the club, having previously played for Middlesbrough, Northampton Town, Blackburn Rover and Sunderland. Brighton have made a strong start in the Premier League, including a 3-1 win against Chelsea, Softfootball reported.

The announcement was made via the club’s official X handle, highlighting Steele’s continued role in the club’s plans. They shared:

Brighton Head Coach Fabian Hurzeler commended Steele’s presence in the team, saying:
I’m delighted Jason is going to be with us for the next few years. He is a big influence in the dressing room and he maintains high standards on and off the pitch every day. I am pleased he will be on the journey with us in the coming seasons
Reflecting on his career at the club, Steele said:
The progress the club has made since I came to Brighton is incredible and hopefully I can complete ten years with the club, which would be a fantastic achievement personally.
We’ve got a great group of coaches and keepers at the club, and we keep each other on our toes which drives standards on a day-to-day basis. Everyone wants to give the best version of themselves every day.
I’m looking forward to playing my part in Brighton’s future. Our ambition this season is to qualify for Europe again.
Playing in Europe two years ago was such a brilliant experience and if we can find that consistency then there’s no reason why we can’t do it again. It’s a young squad sprinkled with experience which you need, but the quality in the group is definitely good enough
The club shared a clip on their official X handle highlighting Steele’s crucial saves and distribution skills. Watch below:

Softfootball reported earlier that Brighton missed the signing of Lazaro Vinicius after the player accepted an offer to join Saudi Club Al Najma. Steele’s new contract extension ensures that Brighton will keep one of their most experienced goalkeepers as they club aims to compete at the top end of the Premier League and they believe Steele can help them succeed.
