England Captain Harry Kane joined FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, which left many wondering if his pursuit of trophies would finally find fulfillment away from home.

Two years on, that decision looks increasingly vindicated, not just for Harry Kane, but for Bayern Munich, whose faith in the striker continues to pay rich dividends. Softfootball understands that Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 in a £86.4 million deal (plus add-ons).

Since then, Kane has been a phenomenon. The 32-year old has scored 103 goals in 106 appearances for Bayern. He became the fastest player in this century to reach 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe’s top 5 leagues, surpassing records held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland.

Kane shared a video on his official Instagram handle on how excited and proud he is to have scored 100 goals for Bayern Munich. Watch the video below:

This season, the England captain made a fast start, scoring 18 goals in just 10 games. His consistency have reinforced Bayern’s attack. However, Kane is approaching the latter stages of his prime and Bayern may face the decision of either to cash in or continue building around him.

Still, interest from top Premier League clubs still lingers. Kane’s contract includes a release clause of £56 million which takes effect from January 2026.

Yet for now, Kane is focused on his Bavarian mission. In an interview shared by Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Kane made his intentions clear. Romano shared:

Harry Kane replies on potential return to Premier League… or new deal at Bayern: In terms of staying longer at Bayern, I could definitely see that.

I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation, told @Guardian

In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back. Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.

I am fully all in with Bayern. If there was a conversation about extending then we will see, but I have still got this season and another season. It is not like I am in my last year, it is not like there is any panic. I am calm, I love the manager at Bayern and as long as we are improving and I am improving then I am happy to see what we can achieve.

Bayern’s confidence in Kane is not just about his performance on pitch; it reflects the club’s internal sentiment. Fabrizio Romano via his verified X handle shared Bayern director Christoph Freund remarks during an interview. He said:

Bayern director Christoph Freund: Both us and Harry Kane side can easily imagine continuing together beyond the end of the current contract.

Harry feels very comfortable in Munich. That’s why we hope he’ll stay in Munich for a few more years, told Sky90.

This clearly reflects the club’s trust in Kane’s contribution both on and off the pitch and also their willingness to build around him for seasons to come.
