MLS side, Inter Miami have announced the arrival of Argentine, Rodrigo de Paul to the club. Softfootball understands that the midfielder is joining first on loan before making it a permanent move till 2029.
According to a statement on the club’s official website while unveiling the Argentine, Rodrigo will team up with the club after settling his documentation process.
The statement read:
“Inter Miami CF announced today it has signed Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul from Spanish giants Club Atlético de Madrid.
“De Paul will initially join the Club on loan through the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season; the deal includes an option to make the transfer permanent through the 2029 MLS season.
“The World Cup champion and two-time CONMEBOL Copa América winner, regarded as one of the best in the world in his position, brings world-class quality to the midfield and adds elite, title-winning experience to the squad.
“The 31-year-old, nicknamed El Motorcito (the little engine) for his tireless work rate, will join the squad and begin training with the team upon the receipt of his P-1 Visa and ITC.”
Softfootball had earlier reported what the fans reaction was like when the news filtered that Inter Miami were signing Rodrigo de Paul. De Paul will team up with national team captain, Lionel Messi in inter Miami.
Speaking on their new arrival, club owner and former football star, David Beckham said Rodrigo is a leader. He reiterated that:
“Rodrigo is a player I’ve admired for many years. As a leader he has brought so much to the teams he has played for – especially with his national team Argentina.
“He brings experience, passion and quality to our team and to our city.
“I’m excited to welcome another World Cup winning player not just to Inter Miami, but also to MLS.”
Inter Miami Managing Owner Jorge Mas, also expressed his excitement, saying:

The former Atletico Madrid and Udinese midfielder, Rodrigo De Paul, will be unveiled to the Club’s passionate fans at Chase Stadium when Inter Miami face FC Cincinnati.
