Hansi Flick is set to extend his stay at FC Barcelona, with a new contract expected to run until June 2028.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed that an agreement has already been reached, with an official announcement imminent.
The extension underlines Barcelona’s commitment to a long-term project led by Laporta, with sporting director Deco also expected to remain a key figure in the club’s strategic plans.
Hansi Flick, set to sign new deal at Barcelona valid until June 2028. “We will announce the renewal for Flick soon, it will be for one more season — until 2028”, says Joan Laporta “Hansi has already agreed, he’s very happy here”, the president has told RAC1.
Laporta said in comments reported by Fabrizio Romano via his X handle.

Softfootball understands that Flick’s future is closely tied to Laporta’s leadership, with the German coach expected to remain in charge as long as Laporta continues as president.
Laporta recently secured re-election following Barcelona’s presidential elections on March 15, 2026. He won 32,934 votes, representing 68.18% of the total, comfortably defeating rival Víctor Font, who received 14,385 votes (29.78%), while 984 ballots were recorded as blank.
The victory marks Laporta’s fourth term as Barcelona president, having previously served from 2003 to 2010 and returning again in 2021, reinforcing his control over the club’s sporting and financial future.
