Viktor Gyokeres has made it clear he has no interest in joining Manchester United this summer, instead signalling his readiness to sign for Arsenal. The Sporting CP striker has officially dismissed the Red Devils, a message delivered through his agent on Friday, according to reports from Portugal.

Earlier this month, it appeared Gyokeres was pressing for a move to Old Trafford. The striker wanted Sporting to honour a verbal agreement for a €60 million plus €10 million deal. However, the Portuguese club’s abrupt shift in stance—now demanding a higher fee—sparked a breakdown in negotiations and left the Sweden international feeling betrayed.

Despite manager Ruben Amorim’s desire to reunite with Gyokeres at United as part of his attacking rebuild, the striker is no longer considering them a viable option. United’s poor domestic campaign and their failure to secure any European football following a Europa League final defeat to Tottenham have only made the offer less appealing.

With Arsenal firmly in the picture and Champions League football on offer, Gyokeres’ attention has turned to North London. The Gunners appear increasingly likely to land the prolific forward, who is determined to leave Sporting this summer after a standout season.
