Getafe have submitted an official proposal to sign Jadon Sancho as a free agent, with the Spanish club hoping to secure another major signing following Dani Carvajal’s arrival. The former Manchester United winger has also received proposals from the Middle East, but Getafe are determined to convince him to continue his career in Europe.
Getafe want to repeat their successful approach with Mason Greenwood, who previously enjoyed an impressive spell at the club before moving to Marseille. Sancho, who became a free agent after leaving Manchester United, is now being considered as another attacking reinforcement capable of improving Getafe’s squad.
According to reports, the club have already presented their offer, although a final decision from Sancho remains outstanding. Manager José Bordalás is keen to strengthen his attacking options, and the England international’s technical ability and experience at the highest level make him an attractive target.
Getafe’s interest comes as the club look to build on Carvajal’s arrival and add more quality to their squad. However, competition from the Middle East could complicate negotiations, particularly if rival proposals offer Sancho more attractive financial terms.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa produced a remarkable performance in the UEFA Champions League, defeating Fenerbahçe 6-0 at Villa Park. Nicolas Jackson scored twice in the first half, finding the net in the 31st and 39th minutes after Johan Manzambi opened the scoring.
Ross Barkley continued Villa’s dominance with two second-half goals, including a penalty, before Tammy Abraham completed the rout in the 90th minute. The result marked Aston Villa’s biggest European victory and maintained their perfect start in the competition.
While Villa celebrated a historic night, Getafe continued their pursuit of Sancho, hoping to make another statement in the transfer market. Whether the winger accepts their proposal remains to be seen.
