There was a late drama at the American Express Stadium when Georginio Rutter scored a late equaliser for Brighton as they battled to a 1-1 draw against West Ham United, Softfootball reports.
The Hammers are beginning to find form under Nuno Espírito Santo after he replaced Graham Porter earlier in the season. West Ham drew 1-1 against Manchester United last weekend and came into the Brighton fixture in full confidence while the Seagulls were still ruining their 4-3 defeat against Aston Villa.

Brighton took to their official X handle to announce the final result to their fans after Rutter’s late goal cancelled out Jarrod Bowen’s opener for West Ham United. They posted:

Former Manchester United forward, Danny Welbeck, who turned 35 last month led the line for the home side as they looked to bounce back from the humiliating home loss against Aston Villa in midweek.
In a not too eventful first half, West Ham had the two best opportunities to go in front. Captain Jarrod Bowen wriggled his way past two defenders but his shot was saved by Seagulls’ goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen with a stunning stop. Crysencio Summerville latched on to the rebound the goalkeeper also saved his effort.

The game looked like it was heading for a draw in the second half but a poor header back by Jan Paul van Hecke was pounced upon by substitute Callum Wilson. He gets into the box and found Jarrod Bowen, who slides in a fine finish to make it 1-0.
The home team almost responded immediately as a cross looped up off Max Kilman and heading into goal but Alphonse Areola in goal for West Ham United pushed the ball on to the woodwork. The pressure didn’t go away as the home team kept searching for the equalizing goal.

West shared a video via their official X handle of players appreciating the traveling away fans. Watch below.

In the 91st minute, during a goalmouth melee, Georginio Rutter controlled the ball and fired in the equaliser. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) checked for a possible offside but the goal stood as the match ended 1-1 inside the American Express Stadium. Rutter celebrated widely with teammates as it was his first goal of the season.
