Softfootball gathered that The milestone came during Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over RC Celta de Vigo at the Spotify Camp Nou, where De Jong made his 293rd official appearance, surpassing the previous record of 292 held by Phillip Cocu.
In a touching moment, Cocu himself presented De Jong with a commemorative shirt after the match, marking the achievement and symbolizing a passing of the torch between two Dutch greats at the club on April 22, 2026.
De Jong’s legacy at Barcelona continues to grow, with the midfielder already securing seven trophies including two La Liga titles, two domestic cups, and three Spanish Super Cups. Only Ronald Koeman has won more trophies as a Dutch player in Barcelona history.
