Softfootball can confirm Frank Onyeka has shared an emotional message after helping Coventry City secure promotion to the Premier League, ending a 25-year absence from the top flight.

Onyeka posted on his X handle, in a message later reposted by the official handle of the Super Eagles.

Onyeka’s post:

The milestone was confirmed on April 19, 2026, following a dramatic 1–1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Coventry needed just a point to seal promotion, and a crucial 84th-minute equaliser from Bobby Thomas ensured they finished in the top two with 86 points and three games to spare.

Despite joining on loan from Brentford FC during the winter window, Onyeka made a strong impact under Frank Lampard. In his 13 appearances, Coventry recorded eight wins and just one defeat — a run that underlines his influence.
