Gonzalo Higuain played alongside Lionel Messi for Argentina and while he has retired from the national team, Lionel Messi hopes to play at the 2026 World Cup. The tournament will be hosted in the North America countries of the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Higuain made 75 appearances for Argentina, scoring 31 goals while featuring at three FIFA World Cups 2010, 2014 and 2018. Also, he played in three Copa América tournaments.

Higuain enjoyed a decorated 17-year professional career representing the likes of River Plate, Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, and Inter Miami. And he won six European league titles, three La Liga titles with Real Madrid and three Serie A titles with Juventus.
In the 2015/16 season with Napoli, he scored 36 league goals, which won him the Capocannoniere title and equaled the record for most goals in a single Serie A season.
Higuain announced his retirement from professional football in October 2022 after concluding his career with Inter Miami in the MLS.
