Spanish midfielder Fermín López has declared that he doesn’t see himself leaving Barcelona until 2029 when his contract expires, Softfootball reports.

Fermín was one of the most wanted midfielders in Europe this summer. Chelsea pushed hard for the midfielder but Barcelona slapped €90million on him which made it difficult for the London club.

Despite starting the season very well in the Premier League with two wins and a draw, the Blues planned for Fermín López to fill in for the injured Cole Palmer under he returns.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Fermín is confident of his long-term future at Barcelona. He wrote:

Fermín López: “I see myself completing my contract until 2029 at Barcelona. I don’t want to leave.

“I love this club”, told @mundodeportivo.

Fermín López played a leading role for the Spanish U-23 team as they won the last Olympics, beating hosts France in the final. He has continued to grow from there and become a regular member of the Barcelona first team.

Meanwhile, Fermín López has spoken out for the first time after it was alleged that there was a rift between him and his childhood friend Gavi. The report claimed that the rift developed due to a clash between their girlfriends.

Gavi allegedly asked Barcelona to sell Fermin after an angry clash between the pair and the latter seemed to had fuel speculation about tension in the Barcelona dressing room with a cryptic post on social media, which was quickly deleted.

Fermín claims there’s no truth about a rift between him and Gavi as they’ve been friends since they were 12 years old.

Fermín López is currently with his fellow Barcelona stars Lamine Yamal, Gavi and Pedri in the Spanish national team camp as they prepare for Bulgaria tomorrow and Turkey on Sunday.
