Barcelona produced a sensational performance at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, thrashing Olympiacos 6–1 in their UEFA Champions League league phase encounter. As expected by Softfootball in the pregame match analysis, the victory kept Barça’s perfect home record against Greek teams intact, now eight wins in eight, with 20-year-old Fermín López stealing the show by netting his first career hat-trick, just after promising fans that they will see the best of Barcelona.

The game sparked to life in the 7th minute when Lamine Yamal dazzled down the right flank, weaving through defenders before his shot fell kindly for Fermín, who calmly tucked the ball past Konstantinos Tzolakis. Olympiacos didn’t fold immediately Daniel Podence forced an early save from Wojciech Szczęsny, while Dani García’s deflected strike clipped the crossbar. Still, Barça doubled their advantage before the break as debutant Dro Fernández picked out Fermín with a clever pass, and the young Spaniard made no mistake with his finish.
The Greek side pulled one back in the 53rd minute when Ayoub El Kaabi scored from the penalty spot after Eric García handled the ball. However, any hopes of a comeback quickly vanished when Santiago Hezze received a soft second yellow card moments later, leaving Olympiacos a man down.

From there, Barcelona ran riot. Lamine Yamal converted a penalty in the 68th minute after Tzolakis fouled Marcus Rashford. The Englishman then added two superb goals of his own in the 74th and 79th minutes, showing his killer instinct in front of goal. Sandwiched between those efforts, Fermín completed his memorable hat-trick, smashing home a deflected cross, becoming the first Spanish player to score a Champions League treble for Barça.
After the game, Marcus Rashford, who was very influential in the game, addressed the fans in a video uploaded via the team’s official X account.

The result gives Barcelona two wins from three in the competition and the perfect boost heading into Sunday’s much-anticipated El Clásico against Real Madrid, while Olympiacos remain stuck on a single point and without a win in four matches across all competitions.
