Manchester City secured a vital 3-0 win against Crystal Palace and the star of the show was Erling Haaland as he scored a brace, Softfootball reports.
The Cityzens have enjoyed good form recently and Pep Guardiola’s men showed their strength during the UEFA Champions League in midweek. Manchester City defeated Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu and that boosted their morale coming into the match against the Eagles at Selhurst Park

Manchester City shared via their official X handle, their delight with fans after the win over Crystal Palace. And like Softfootball preview noted, Manchester City wanted revenge against Crystal Palace after they lost the FA Cup to them last season.

For the game at Selhurst Park, John Stones remained sidelined as Pep Guardiola continued with Ruben Dias and Gvardiol as his center back pairing while Palace had Sarr and Mateta in attack with Adam Wharton controlling things from midfield.

It was a much tensed battle as the away side controlled game but it was the home side that almost went in front when Yeremy Pino broke the offside trap from Adam Wharton’s dinked pass but only managed to hit the crossbar after being one-on-one with Gianluigi Donnarumma.
That miss came back to hurt Crystal Palace as Matheus Nunes swung in a delightful cross to the back post for Erling Haaland and the Norway striker headed in to make it 1-0 just before half-time.
At the start of the second half, England international Wharton has a good chance to equalize for the home side but missed placed his shot and it went over the bar. City also had chance to extend their lead as Tijjani Reijnders’ low drive was kept out by Dean Henderson.

But Phil Foden ensured Manchester City extended their lead as his low drive from outside the box made it 2-0 before Haaland added a third late on from the penalty spot after Savinho was brought down to make it 3-0.
Manchester City kept the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the premier league table with the win against Crystal Palace. The Cityzen now have just two points behind the Gunners with 34 points while the Eagles sit fifth with 26 points after 16 matches this season.
