Despite the heavy scoreline, Chelsea delivered a competitive performance in Paris, creating several chances throughout the match. However, a series of defensive errors ultimately proved costly for the London side.

Softfootball observed that Chelsea conceded their third goal after Jørgensen attempted a risky pass while playing out from the back near the edge of his penalty area. The mistake allowed PSG to capitalize quickly, increasing their advantage in the match.

Following the goal, Fernández was seen reacting angrily on the pitch, expressing his displeasure at the error.

A clip shared by TNT Sports on youtube showed the Argentine midfielder visibly frustrated with the situation as Chelsea’s defensive problems continued.

Our analysts believe Fernández’s reaction reflected the kind of response expected from a senior player in high-pressure matches, especially in the Champions League knockout stages.

The reaction has also raised discussion about leadership within the squad, particularly regarding Chelsea captain Reece James.

Some observers have questioned why James does not always publicly challenge teammates after costly mistakes during matches. In the same game against PSG, James himself lost possession in midfield during a key moment that led to another PSG goal.

Historically, strong on-field leadership has often played a major role at Chelsea. Former captain John Terry was widely known for confronting teammates and demanding accountability when defensive mistakes occurred.

With the second leg still to come, Chelsea will need stronger defensive organization and improved leadership on the pitch if they hope to overturn the deficit against PSG.
