Enzo Fernandez Open to Real Madrid Move Amid €150m Summer Bid

Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez is reportedly open to a high-profile move to Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants believed to be lining up a massive €150 million offer for the Argentine midfielder.

Fernandez joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a then-record British transfer fee of £107 million from Benfica. Although he initially struggled to adjust to the demands of Premier League football, the 23-year-old has since become a crucial figure in Chelsea’s midfield.

His performances last season were particularly impressive, recording nine goals and 17 assists across 53 appearances. He played a pivotal role in helping the Blues lift both the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Softfootball understands that Real Madrid have identified Fernandez as a key transfer target this summer. The Madrid-based club, which had earlier shown interest in Manchester City’s Rodri, is now considering Fernandez as the ideal midfield reinforcement to support new manager Xabi Alonso’s long-term project.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes via their official X handle, Fernandez has given the green light to the move and is reportedly seduced by the idea of joining Real Madrid, despite knowing it could strain his relationship with Chelsea fans.

Fernandez is understood to be excited about the opportunity to grow under Alonso’s guidance and compete at the highest level in La Liga.

The post stated that:

“Enzo Fernández says yes to Real Madrid

“The Madrid side is preparing an initial offer of €150 million to sign the Chelsea midfielder.”

Madrid are reportedly ready to break their current transfer record to secure Fernandez’s services.

Their most expensive signing to date remains Jude Bellingham, who cost up to €133 million. The Fernandez bid, if successful, would surpass that figure.

To fund the transfer, Real Madrid may offload players such as Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fran Garcia. Rodrygo, in particular, is attracting interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

The final decision now lies with Chelsea, who are yet to respond to the reported bid.
