Emiliano Martinez remains open to a summer move to Manchester United, according to reports from Argentina, as speculation over his Aston Villa future grows. The goalkeeper has attracted interest from both Premier League sides and foreign clubs, including Galatasaray, who are reportedly eyeing him as Fernando Muslera’s replacement.

The 2022 World Cup winner was visibly emotional during Villa’s final home match of last season, adding to rumours that he may be on his way out. Financial pressures at Villa Park could force the club to consider significant sales, and Martinez is among the high-profile names being linked with a departure.

Despite international attention, Martinez is believed to be prioritizing staying in the Premier League and is said to be ‘waiting for’ a formal move from Manchester United. Reports claim that United have initiated contact with the Argentine but have yet to submit an official offer.

Progress on any potential deal is reportedly dependent on the Red Devils finding a buyer for current No.1 Andre Onana. After a turbulent debut season, including being benched by manager Ruben Amorim, Onana is no longer considered untouchable at Old Trafford. The club is open to offers and has previously fielded interest from Saudi sides.

Martinez addressed the uncertainty around his future while on international duty, making it clear that while he’s focused on Argentina for now, he isn’t ruling out a summer transfer. With the window just opening, the keeper emphasized there’s still time for any developments to unfold.

Villa manager Unai Emery, however, was quick to deny the idea that Martinez had played his last game for the club. On the final day of the Premier League season, Emery strongly dismissed the suggestion that the Argentine was departing, insisting the player was staying put—for now.
