Former England midfielder Dele Alli’s contract at Como has been terminated after only one appearance for the club leaving the former Tottenham star as a free agent, Softfootball reports.
Dele had signed an initial 18-month contract at Como earlier this year, having been released by Premier League side Everton in June 2024.
He made his debut in March, in what was his first professional football match since February 2023 during a spell on loan from Everton at Besiktas.

The former Tottenham star has struggled for fitness and form in recent years, spending time with Everton and Besiktas since leaving Spurs in 2022.
He had a difficult start to life in Italy. Making his debut against AC Milan at the San Siro in March, his first competitive appearance in over two years, Alli was sent off after just ten minutes for a clumsy tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
He did not play again for Como last season despite returning to training after suffering another injury, and his Serie A fortunes took another downturn as the 29-year-old did not travelled with the Bianconblu to their pre-season training camp in Marbella.
Now, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli is now available as a free agent after his contrac was terminated with immediate effect by Serie A side, Como. The post read:
“Dele Alli, available as free agent after contract terminated with immediate effect at Como”
Once considered one of Europe’s most promising prospects, Alli’s career fell on hard times after repeated injuries and off-pitch issues that kept him sidelined for long stretches.
He scored 67 goals in 269 appearances for Tottenham, also earning 37 England caps and playing at the 2018 World Cup.
Since leaving Tottenham, Alli has spoken publicly about suffering with addiction, spending time in rehab, and his traumatic childhood.
In an earlier post, Softfootball reported that new Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has broken his silence following his blockbuster move to Anfield after a prolonged summer transfer saga.
