Dan Ndoye Joins Nottingham Forest in €45m Move

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Swiss winger Dan Ndoye from Bologna in a deal worth €40 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, which includes an option to extend through June 2031.

Sports journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano was first to confirm the transfer, noting via his official X handle that Ndoye had finalised his medical and signed his contract with the Premier League club. He also noted that Bologna will benefit from a 10% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

He tweeted:

“Dan Ndoye has signed a five year deal plus option until June 2031 as new Nottingham Forest player.

“Medical done, all sealed and €40m plus €5m add-ons and 10% sell-on clause to Bologna.”

Softfootball reported that Napoli were also in the race for Ndoye and reportedly offered €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses. However, Bologna stood firm on their valuation and ultimately accepted Forest’s improved proposal.

Napoli, now shifting focus to other attacking targets, are exploring options like Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, and Federico Chiesa.

Ndoye had been weighing up a contract extension with Bologna but opted for a move to England instead. Sources close to the player say the appeal of Premier League football played a key role in his decision, as playing in the Premier League means a significant financial improvement and more visibility.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have had a busy window. Following Anthony Elanga’s €55 million switch to Newcastle and Danilo’s €25 million move to Botafogo, the club had funds available to invest.

Ndoye is expected to add pace and directness to Forest’s wide options, with the club targeting a stronger league finish next season.

The winger’s arrival marks a major statement of intent from Forest, who are rebuilding and are looking to sharpen their attack.
