Former Chelsea Captain, Conor Gallagher has passed his medical ahead of his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid in this January transfer window.
Softfootball had reported earlier how Spurs hijacked Aston Villa’s deal for the midfielder and he is set to complete his €40m move back to the premier league as he seeks regular playing time ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Writing on his official X handle, football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Englishman is set to become a Spurs player in few hours alongside Brazilian Souza. He wrote:
Conor Gallagher completed his medical as new Tottenham player, official statement next to announce him and Brazilian LB Souza from Santos. Atlético Madrid receive €40m.

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with injuries and absence due to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Pape Matar Sarr is currently with Senegal and they are due to face Senegal in the semi-final later this evening while Rodrigo Bentancur is out for three months due to injury.
This had made the signing of a midfielder a priority for Tottenham and manager, Thomas Frank prefers a player that understands the premier league. So, signing Conor Gallagher was a no brainer for the London side.
