Cole Palmer has expressed confidence in Chelsea’s chances of beating Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup final, despite acknowledging the French giants as
“probably the best team in the world.”
Palmer is not the only Chelsea player that has spoken ahead of this blockbuster final, as Softfootball reported that Levi Colwill has spoken very highly of the Blues chances of beating the French giants.

Speaking to DAZN, as reported by GOAL, Palmer revealed he watched PSG’s commanding 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the semi-finals and was impressed by their dominance. Yet, the England international maintained that Chelsea have prepared well and are going into the final with belief.
“Obviously, we’re confident,”
Palmer said.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game, but it’s a final. We’re excited. Everyone’s ready. You want to play against the best team, and they probably are the best team in the world, but we’re excited, and we’re ready.
“They do everything well; we’ve watched the games, but we’ve got a plan, and we’re going to try and do it.”
PSG have breezed through the revamped Club World Cup, defeating Inter Miami, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid by a combined score of 10-0. Chelsea, meanwhile, advanced after victories over Benfica, Palmeiras, and Fluminense in what many consider a comparatively easier path.
As Chelsea’s talismanic figure, Palmer will be central to their chances. The 22-year-old has emerged as the Blues’ top goalscorer, playmaker, and creative leader and will need to deliver another inspired performance to tip the balance in their favour at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Off the pitch, Chelsea have been active in the transfer market. Following the sale of winger Noni Madueke to Arsenal, Softfootball understands the Blues are also open to selling striker Nicolas Jackson. However, their £100 million asking price has reportedly deterred clubs like AC Milan from advancing negotiations.
Jackson is expected to be available for Sunday’s final and could play a crucial role alongside Palmer in what would be a historic win for Chelsea should they topple tournament favourites PSG.
