Ahead of the premier league match against Brighton on Saturday, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided fitness updates on three members of his squad, Softfootball reports.
Federico Chiesa, Wataru Endo and Cody Gakpo all missed Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Match-Day 6 of the UEFA Champions League. Chiesa was ill while Gakpo was out with a muscle injury and Endo an ankle injury.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the game as shared via the club’s official X handle. He said:
Federico is not ill anymore. He trained yesterday and he trained today again, so I assume he’s ready to be in the squad tomorrow again. It’s going to be weeks. With Cody it’s a muscle injury and Wata is an ankle injury.
In September, Gakpo penned a new long-term deal with Liverpool as he doesn’t see his future elsewhere especially after winning the premier league with fellow Dutchman, Arne Slot.

Gakpo was a mainstay in the team until his latest injury. Chiesa is mostly a substitute under Arne Slot. He is currently wanted in Italy by the likes of Juventus and AC Milan but he insists on seeing out the season with Liverpool while Endo also plays as a substitute.
Liverpool are currently placed 10th on the premier league table with 23 points after 15 matches so far this season.
