Chelsea and Brazil have received positive news as Estêvão Willian is expected to recover in time for a possible FA Cup final and a 2026 World Cup call-up. The 18-year-old winger suffered a minor hamstring injury in a recent match, which raised early concerns among fans and staff.

Medical tests have now confirmed the injury is not serious, easing fears around his fitness. As shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, the situation is under control:

The injury is expected to keep him out for around 15 to 20 days, similar to a minor issue he had earlier this year. While Estêvão focuses on recovery, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has defended his team after a recent loss to Manchester United, insisting they performed well and deserved a better result.

Softfootball believes Estêvão remains a key part of Brazil’s plans going forward. Once he returns to full fitness, he is expected to play an important role, with growing confidence that he will be included in the World Cup squad.

Away from the pitch, preparations for the 2026 World Cup have also been affected by off-field issues. FIFA recently stepped in following a racism incident involving Allan Saint-Maximin, showing a strong stance against discrimination as the tournament approaches.

Estêvão is expected to return to training in early May and could be back in action by May 17. If his recovery stays on track, he will be ready for Chelsea’s final matches and available for Carlo Ancelotti when Brazil finalizes its World Cup squad.
