Liam Rosenior marked his debut in the premier league with a win as Chelsea defeated Brentford 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge, Softfootball reports.
Rosenior was named Chelsea Coach earlier this week and was in-charge when Chelsea fell 3-2 against Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup but his side showed encouraging signs which left the fans excite at the arrival of the former Strasbourg manager.

It wasn’t an easy encounter for the Blues but they came out onto and shared the moment with their fans via their official X handle with a photo and caption. They posted:
We take the points! 😁

Brentford had the better chances at the start of the encounter but were wasteful in front of goal as they missed all the opportunities to go in front. However, they almost gave away a goal but goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was very sharp to save Nathan Collins’ blushes following his horrendous backpass almost allowed Alejandro Garnacho in.
Also in the first half, Chelsea screamed for a penalty when Joao Pedro dropped to the deck in the box. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) checked and deemed that there was no contact from Bees defender Michael Kayode.

Chelsea eventually took the lead as Kayode played Brazilian forward Joao Pedro on side. The former Brighton star took a touch and hammered the ball into the roof of the net. The goal was initially flagged for offside but after a thorough check by VAR, the goal was awarded.
The away side had the opportunity to equalise but Robert Sanchez stood tall in goal. Chelsea made it 2-0 in the 76th minute as Cole Palmer hit his penalty hard to his right and sends Caoimhin Kelleher the wrong way.

Chelsea moved into sixth on the premier league table with 34 points while Brentford dropped to seventh on the log with 33 points after 22 matches so far this season.
