Cesc Fàbregas has dismissed reports linking him to the vacant Chelsea job, making it clear he is focused on his current role. The former Chelsea midfielder is not considering a move despite growing speculation.

The update was shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, where Fàbregas addressed the situation directly:

Fabrizio Romano reported;

Cesc Fabregas on Chelsea job: “Nothing to say about that, it’d be stupid to think about that now — my focus is on next game against Genoa. I didn’t even saw any quote from our president”.

“I believe I will continue my chapter as Como head coach. Focus on next games”.

Chelsea are currently searching for a new manager after sacking Liam Rosenior following a poor run of results. The situation worsened after a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton, which marked their fifth straight league loss without scoring. It is their worst run in over a century.

Fàbregas had been seen as a strong candidate for the role, but he remains committed to Como. He is doing well with the Italian side, pushing for a place in European competition in only their second season back in Serie A.

Softfootball understands that while Fàbregas may review his future after the season, he is under contract until 2028 and is unlikely to leave in the middle of his project.

Chelsea will continue with Calum McFarlane as interim manager for the rest of the season, including the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds. The club is expected to appoint a permanent manager by June ahead of the next campaign.
