Carrick Relishing ‘Big Challenge’ as United Prepare for Arsenal Test at the Emirates

2 Min Read

Manchester United caretaker manager Michael Carrick has admitted he is eagerly anticipating a stern examination when his side travel to the Emirates Stadium to face league leaders Arsenal tomorrow, Softfootball reports.

The heavyweight Premier League clash comes at a time of renewed optimism around Old Trafford, with United riding the momentum of a dominant 2-0 derby victory over Manchester City last week. That result marked a dream start for Carrick, who was appointed caretaker boss following the club’s decision to part ways with Ruben Amorim earlier this year.

Speaking ahead of the trip to North London via the club’s official X handle, Carrick was full of respect for Mikel Arteta’s side, while stressing the need for his players to be fully prepared for the challenge ahead. He said:

Yeah, I’m looking forward to the game. It’s a big challenge, you know, they’re a very good team. It’s pretty obvious to say that, they’ve got so many threats, they’re playing really well, they’re top of the league for a reason. It’s a big challenge, not taking that lightly at all. They are a very good team. It is a big challenge. We’ve got to be ready for it!

Arsenal’s strong form and position at the summit of the table make them clear favourites, but United will travel with belief after last week’s statement win over City. Carrick will be hoping his side can channel the same intensity, discipline and confidence as they look to test the league leaders on their own turf and continue their positive response under his early stewardship.
