Bryan Mbeumo has begun to justify the £71 million fee paid for his services by Manchester United this summer after some eye-catching performances in the first month of the new Premier League season.
Softfootball can report that the Cameroonian has been named Manchester United’s player of the Month for August following his outstanding performances, beating competition from Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt.

The former Brentford forward’s goal against Burnley was picked as goal of the month, beating his goal against Grimsby to second.
Celebrating his exploit, Manchester United, via its Official X handle congratulated the African star saying:

Mbeumo has been fantastic since joining Manchester United in the summer. He was a huge menace during the game against Arsenal on the opening day of the season, although the Reds lost the game, he was one of the standout performers.
Against Fulham, Mbeumo never stopped running as he gave Calvin Bassey and Ryan Sessegnon a tough time as the game finished 1-1 in a match many felt Man United should’ve won. Mbeumo came off the bench to score his first goal for United against Grimsby but the Red Devils lost in a penalty shootout 12-11 after it ended 2-2 after full-time.
Before the international break, Manchester United got their first premier league win of the season courtesy a late winner from Mbeumo in a 3-2 win at Old Trafford. Mbeumo later revealed that he was delighted because it was his first goal at Old Trafford.
Mbeumo is currently with Cameroon as they navigate the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Man United winger provided an assist in the 3-0 win over Eswatini and should be involved against Cape Verde on Tuesday before returning to Manchester.
