Manchester United climbed to sixth in the Premier League after a commanding 4-1 victory over bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, extending their unbeaten run away from home to five matches. The result was a strong response from United, who were coming off a disappointing 1-1 draw in which West Ham struck late to deny them all three points last weekend, Softfootball reports.
Despite Wolves entering the match rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from their opening 14 games, one of the worst starts in English top-flight history it was the hosts who began brightly. Diogo Dalot and Bryan Mbeumo forced early saves from Sam Johnstone as Ruben Amorim’s side looked to spark life into a desperate season.

But United soon took control. In the 25th minute, Casemiro dispossessed André in midfield and released former Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, who squared for Bruno Fernandes to bundle home from close range. The Red Devils nearly doubled their advantage moments later when Cunha saw a goal-bound effort cleared off the line by Toti Gomes.
Wolves, though, found a lifeline just before the break. David Møller Wolfe’s well-timed cut-back was met by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who guided a pinpoint finish into the far corner, Wolves’ first goal since October to send the sides level into half-time.

United restored their lead early in the second half with a flowing move that exposed the hosts’ fragile backline. Dalot burst forward and unselfishly squared for Mbeumo, who tapped home to make it 2-1. With momentum firmly on their side, United added a third shortly after the hour mark when Fernandes delivered a superb cross that Mason Mount volleyed in for his third Premier League goal of the campaign.
As Wolves crumbled, United continued to press. Half-chances went begging for Cunha and Amad Diallo, but the visitors were handed another opportunity when Yerson Mosquera was penalised for handball inside the box. Fernandes stepped up and buried the penalty into the bottom-left corner, sealing a dominant win and completing a brace.

The second half brought a key moment for United fans, the introduction of teenager Kobbie Mainoo, who has recently been at the centre of attention due to his limited minutes this season. Manager Ruben Amorim has faced heavy criticism from supporters for not giving the youngster enough playing time, and Mainoo’s appearance was met with notable approval from the away end.
After the game Manchester United via its official X handle, shared the players reactions to the victory and thanking the traveling fans for their incredible support as they picked up a massive victory at the Molinuex stadium. They posted:

For Wolves, it marked their eighth consecutive Premier League defeat and with Christmas approaching, they are already mathematically guaranteed to remain bottom. United, meanwhile, move upward with renewed confidence, hoping this clinical performance sparks a stronger push toward the European places.
