A full agreement has been reached, with Brighton paying a €28 million fixed fee plus €2 million in add‑ons. The 18‑year‑old turned down strong interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund to join the Seagulls, choosing development and pathway over money.

Yohanna was only signed from Nigeria in 2025 by Ikon Allah Football Academy, and after arriving at AIK Stockholm he began with the academy team. His rise was so rapid that within two months he was promoted to the first team, such was the scale of his potential.

On almost every matchday, three to five agents from major European clubs were in attendance to scout him, a clear sign of how highly regarded he is and how much belief exists in his talent.

Choosing Brighton is seen as a smart developmental step, with the club having built a strong reputation for nurturing young players, giving them opportunities and helping them reach elite level. Yohanna is expected to follow that pathway, with the Premier League move arriving at the perfect time in his progression.
