After successfully cashing in £60m on striker, Joao Pedro who was sold to Chelsea, Brighton are beginning to move at their own pace in the transfer market. The Seagulls are calmly wrapping up their deals as Softfootball received reports that a new left back has arrived for the Albion team.
Football-italia, revealed the club has finalised on deal with Belgian side Club Brugge for left back, Maxim De Cuyper worth around €25m, including add-ons. De Cuyper has already been authorised to travel for a medical before completing all the formalities as transfer is to be wrapped up in coming days.

The 24-year-old impressed in the Champions League last season playing against the likes of Manchester City, while also becoming a regular starter at the international level with the Red Devils of Belgium where he has made 10 appearances with 3 goals since debuting in 2024.
Brighton’s new boy will be a good outlet via the left channel as he loves to join the attack as seen in his 54 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge, netting 4 goals and providing seven assists. He will be a good cover for Ecuadorian, Pervis Josué Estupiñán who has said he is open to leaving Brighton this summer.
Apart from Cuyper, Brighton are expected to bring in more players as manager, Fabian Hürzeler is looking to add more fire power in attack after losing Pedro to Chelsea.
During the Pedro transfer reports, Softfootball recounted how Chelsea and Brighton agreed big money fee for Joao Pedro. Chelsea’s striking options have been bolstered by the capture of Joao Pedro, with the Brazil international set to undergo a medical before linking up with his new teammates at the Club World Cup.
This summer’s attacking overhaul began with Liam Delap’s move from Ipswich Town for £30 million. The 22-year-old has already found the net in the Club World Cup, and Enzo Maresca now has three forward talents to rotate through the season.
