Brentford hails Benjamin Fredrick after helping Super Eagles beat Lesotho

Benjamin Fredrick is gradually gaining respect from both club and country following his recent rise especially with the national team.

Softfootball can report that the 20-year-old has featured constantly for the Super Eagles since Eric Chelle came on board and against Lesotho he played for 90minutes as Nigeria won 2-1 to keep hopes alive of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Immediately after the match on Friday evening, Brentford took to their official X handle to congratulate Fredrick for helping Nigeria win. They wrote:

90 minutes and an important win for Benji Fredrick tonight in World Cup Qualifying

Interestingly, Brentford FC was formed on this day, 136 years ago. They are still not a powerhouse in English football but they have held their own since gaining promotion to the premier league.

Currently, Benjamin Fredrick is on loan at Belgian Pro League club Dender EH from Brentford for the rest of the season. He has not yet established himself with the Bees but he is highly rated at the club and they monitor his development carefully.

Fredrick is battling to go to the World Cup for the first time but Nigeria currently sit third in Group C with 14 points, South Africa in second with 15 points while Benin Republic are top of the table with 17 points with only one team gaining automatic qualification while second place go into the play-off.
