Brahim Diaz to Extend Real Madrid Stay as Real Step Up Contract Talks

Real Madrid aren’t slowing down. After locking in four signings already this summer, the club is now turning attention to players already wearing the white shirt getting some to sign fresh terms and maybe letting a few go too.

Earlier today, reports from Softfootball claimed that Thibaut Courtois is staying beyond 2026. The Real Madrid goalkeeper has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay until June 2027

Another name on the extension list is Raul Asencio. Not the biggest headline-grabber, but the club clearly sees something in him. Sources close to the matter say his new deal is nearly wrapped up.

Then there’s Brahim Diaz. After coming back from his loan spell at Milan last year, he’s worked hard, made an impact, and earned a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans. Now, he’s getting rewarded.

Transfer Expert, Fabrizio Romano via his X handle confirmed that the agreement for a new contract is done; all that’s left is the signature and official unveiling.

With Madrid’s pre-season starting soon cut short because of their Club World Cup commitments, it’s expected Brahim will put pen to paper once he’s back in Spain.

He’s scored 18 and assisted 15 since returning, a pretty solid return for someone who wasn’t always a starter. That stat alone shows why Madrid are keen to keep him, especially if Rodrygo Goes leaves, which is still very much in the air.

But amid all this, there’s a strange one. SoftFootball reported that Vinicius Junior’s contract renewal is suddenly uncertain. Not long ago, the deal looked nearly done, but the wage demand from the Brazilian has stalled the whole talk, and it’s unclear if things will pick back up before the summer ends.

So while Courtois, Asencio, and Brahim look locked in, the Vinicius situation could be Madrid’s next big decision. One way or another, the next few weeks at Valdebebas will be anything but dull.
